STEP INSIDE MY STUDIO
MY ARTISTIC VISION
I explore presence and emotion through abstract portraits of women of color. My work is about how a person exists in space and in feeling and how presence can be seen and felt through color, form and light.
I am a self-taught artist based in Rotterdam. Painting has always been where I feel most like myself. I spent countless hours experimenting with materials and techniques, learning through trial and error and discovering how color and shape can express what words cannot.
My portraits are built in layers of acrylic and gouache, combining organic shapes with carefully considered finishes. Color is central. It gives life and energy to the work and carries emotion and movement. Each piece explores identity, connection and the quiet strength of the women I paint.
Painting allows me to give shape to presence and emotion and to create a space where viewers can pause, reflect and feel that they matter..

Those photo albums were full of young faces, proud, hopeful and full of life. .....
